Grading, in one minute
The same card can sell for $50 or $5,000 depending on its grade. Always compare sold prices for the same grade and grader.
- PSA
- Most traded grades in the US. Scale 1–10; a PSA 10 Gem Mint often sells for several times a PSA 9.
- BGS (Beckett)
- Gives four subgrades (centring, corners, edges, surface). A Black Label 10 is the rarest grade in the hobby.
- CGC
- Grew from comics into cards. Popular for modern Pokémon; usually sells a little below the same PSA grade.
- SGC
- Known for vintage baseball and the black 'tuxedo' slab. Fast turnaround and lower fees.
